DO NOT:

-Over-hydrate- Overworking the liver will make it weak. The virus will attack     the weakened liver! *however* this is normally not an issue, as most             puppies need every drop they can get, and then some. So when recovering     your puppy, I wouldnt worry  about over hydrating near as much as                 dehydration. Its the dehydration that kills most often. Once the puppy is         drinking on its own for a good solid day or so, there shouldnt be a need for      forced fluids as often, but do not let puppy get "belly fulls" of water in one         trip to the water bowl

-Over-feed- Overfeeding can cause a relapse by using up energy needed to     combat the virus. Overfeeding will overwork the digestive system, it will             also  promote vomiting and nausea! I believe overfeeding is one of the             biggest causes of a relapse, along with getting comfortable with puppys         recovery, and relaxing treatment. Even after the puppy appears to be fully     recovered, continue with recommended treatment, as puppy isnt out of the     woods just yet. (remember the initial incubation period?)

-Leave the puppy alone too long- The little puppy needs to feel loved! It will     prevent  him from losing his will to live, like they so often do, and just giving     up the fight.

-Assume- Dont assume your baby is well enough to play and rough house         with the kids! He/she still needs plenty of rest after the illness seems to be     gone. Continue  Parvaid for 2 or 3 weeks after the virus seems to be gone,     and keep any other dogs that are on the premises on Parvaid using the         preventative instructions!

-Be negative- Your puppy can feel that! I have the most trouble with this         one, its hard not to fret when a loved one is in such danger! I even fret with    peoples dogs that dont belong to me... its hard :(

-Be irresponsible- It is your responsibility to keep your puppy from                    spreading   it to other dogs who may not have great guardians like you!
The best disinfectant for parvo is bleach (1:30). You have probably heard it      is the only  one- but it is not! Parvosol can be bought online here and it             works for things you cant bleach like the couch and carpet!
